The Andrews Labor government is doing what matters and delivering on our election commitment to Altona families. As part of the 23/24 budget, we are allocating funds ensuring promises we made during the election campaign to upgrade and modernise Altona Primary school’s playground with dedicated funding of $1.2 million.
This continues from our investment in education, building a new two room modular kindergarten in Altona North. Sutton Avenue Kindergarten which will provide 106 new funded kindergarten places.
The Andrews Labor government invests in early childhood education as we continue the delivery of free kindergarten programs for three and four-year-olds in participating services.
We are also backing TAFE to deliver the skills Victoria needs. This year’s budget also ensures the continuation of free TAFE, including allowing students to access multiple Free TAFE courses along priority training pathways.

“I’m delighted to see this much needed upgrade funded in this year’s budget. Having spoken with students, teachers, and parents about just how outdated the play equipment is, it will be wonderful to replace this aged infrastructure for future years of kids to enjoy.”
Ends.
