This morning Hobsons Bay City Council announced the approval of plans to redevelop Williamstown Swimming and Life Saving Club thanks to a $11.3 million grant from the Victorian State Government.
Plans for the clubs’ upgrades have been approved by the office of Sonya Kilnenny, the Minister for Planning. The funding was first announced in 2021 and after thorough community and club consultation, the designs have been approved.
This vital project will ensure that the volunteers who contribute their time to the rescue services will have the space and resources needed to save lives.
The club also hosts over 400 registered nippers, making it the largest Bayside Nippers program in Victoria. The redevelopment will provide upgraded learning spaces, change rooms, first aid rooms, and community spaces for the nippers and visiting school programs.
