Member for Williamstown, Melissa Horne visited Wembley Primary School for the official opening of the new infrastructure upgrades on behalf of the Hon. Ben Carroll, Minister for Education.
The Victorian Government committed over $10.219 million to upgrading Webley Primary School’s learning facilities.
The modernisation of the school building includes 6 classrooms, an art room, a music room, a Spanish language room, a science, technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM) space, a staffroom, a new school office, 4 senior personnel offices, a first aid room, an ICT server room, a conference room, 2 meeting rooms and inclusive toilet facilities.
The landscaping works include an upgraded synthetic turf athletics track, basketball/netball court, downball courts and garden beds.
In the past 10 years, the Victorian Government has invested $16.9 billion in building new schools and more than 2,200 school upgrades.
This investment will ensure every child can get a great education, our schools can cater for Victoria’s growing population, and our government schools are better equipped to prepare students for the 21st century.
