Member for Williamstown, Melissa Horne, visited McIvor Reserve to attend the announcement of the second round of funding for The Victorian Government’s New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.
As a round two participant, McIvor Reserve in Yarraville will receive up to $100,000 in funding for upgrades.
This project aims to improve off-lead dog area at McIvor Reserve in Yarraville to strength community connections and promote responsible dog ownership.
Key upgrades include new park amenities, path connections, fencing, new planting and lawn areas.
The Victorian Government’s New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program seeks to improve the state’s open space network by committing $13.4 million to ensure that Victorians have easy access to much needed green open space to exercise, relax or enjoy the outdoors with their dogs.
This investment will provide funding to specific public land managers to design and deliver the new and upgraded dog parks across Victoria in two rounds.
The program aims to deliver 26 new and upgraded dog parks across the state.
