HC Kim Reserve in Seaholme, Loft Reserve in Newport, and Langshaws Reserve in Altona North have been named successful applicants of the Air Quality Improvement Precincts Grants 2025 program.
$384,147 has been allocated to seal the rock car parks at the three local ovals, reducing dust pollution in the highly used community areas in the Williamstown electorate.
The Air Quality Improvement Precincts (AQIP) 2025 Grant Round provides Victorian Government funding for projects aimed at improving air quality in two high-pollution areas: the Inner West and Outer West precincts of Melbourne.
With a total funding pool of up to $1 million, the program supports initiatives that reduce PM2.5 and PM10 emissions from transport, industrial, and domestic sources.
PM2.5 is particulate matter of a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or smaller, and PM10 is particulate matter of a diameter of 10 micrometers (0.01 mm) or smaller.
The reduction of PM2.5 and PM10 has led to improved air quality and will achieve the same at HC Kim Reserve in Seaholme, Loft Reserve in Newport, and Langshaws Reserve in Altona North.
This grant was administered by Sustainability Victoria (SV) on behalf of the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA).
