Member for Williamstown, Melissa Horne changes to the way trucks will travel on local roads in Altona North, around Chambers Road.
The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), in consultation with Hobsons Bay City Council and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), have agreed to the installation of 24/7 truck restrictions on McArthurs Road and Bunting Court between Chambers Road and Millers Road.
Works have commenced to install updated road signage.
Once the new signs are installed on McArthurs Road and Bunting Court, the NHVR will be sending officers to patrol the area and monitor heavy vehicle use.
The NHVR will be responsible for enforcing curfews on local roads.
The new Chambers Road curfew in collaboration with the West Gate Tunnel no-truck zone will aid in reducing noise, pollution, and road safety issues contributed by heavy vehicles on local roads.
