The State Labor Government is making life easier and more affordable for families in Williamstown, including by investing in local sport.
Cost of living pressures are being felt by everyone in Williamstown. That’s why this year’s Budget is slashing the cost of commuting – delivering free public transport until the end of May, then half-price fares from June 1 until the end of the year. This will save the average daily commuter in Williamstown more than $1,300.
But we’re also investing in the local clubs that keep our community connected. State Labor’s Budget delivers $85,000 to deliver lighting upgrades at the cricket training facility at DSV Stadium (previously Downer Oval), the home of Williamstown Cricket Club, so they can train of an evening.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet with Cam Smith and some local athletes down at the nets to hear the difference this upgrade will make for them.
Only Labor will invest in Williamstown – a better training facility for our cricketers and our Get Active Kids vouchers are all about bringing the community together and making sure kids can play the sport they love.
