Member for Williamstown, Melissa Horne today announced that Bayside College P-12 would be among 46 across the state to share $22.5 million in Planned Maintenance Program funding to prioritise and complete maintenance work on classrooms and facilities.
The schools will use the funding to carry out essential works such as fixing roofs and replacing windows, maintaining ramps, painting, resurfacing floors, or improving pathways.
Bayside has been allocated more than $1.9 million to address the outcomes of the Ramps Safety Audit Program. This includes complete rebuilding of fifty-six ramps, partial rebuild of two ramps, and minor works at five ramps.
Earlier this year Bayside College’s new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) facilities opened at the P-12 campus thanks to a $6.7 million investment from the Allan Labor Government to build a new STEM building, modernise the library, and upgrade outdoor spaces for students.
This works plus the $1.9 million in maintenance will help transform the campus for the students.
Works are determined by a rolling facilities evaluation process, which provides up-to-date information on the condition of schools to create a faster and more targeted allocation of funding.
